Villas Flamingos...
Isla Holbox... Your island getaway... Here it is! Remember when the Yucatan was a remote getaway destination - with quaint villages and long, uncrowded beaches? The beautiful island of Holbox remains that way. Bird watching, fishing and sunsets define this undiscovered paradise.
Villas Flamingos features comfortable bungalows, a swimming pool and cuisine with a European slant.
Many dream the dream yet few experience it. A place completely surrounded by turquoise green waters, populated with nature's gifts and blessed with ochre sunsets.... A place where cares and preoccupations fade away.... Holbox is such a place and Villas Flamingos invites you to realize and share your dream with us.
We're only 2 1/2 hours from Cancun's International Airport, but that short distance represents a vast difference in vacation attitude. Here, you'll find no discos, no tour buses, no shopping malls, and no mob scene on the beach.
We prefer to spend time strolling miles of wild beach while hunting seashells. Or silently pondering the precarious flight of the Flamingo while Pelicans dive in pursuit of their daily meal. Our evenings are spent in quiet conversation amongst friends as the sun melts away into the Gulf of Mexico.
The little village of Holbox boasts nearly 1500 inhabitants, most are fishermen and have tremendous pride in their natural paradise. With our limited tourism, some have turned guide and delight in showing off the dolphins which live in the Yalahau lagoon or finding a school of dorado for their fishing clients.

Standard fishing trips, dolphin watching excursions and a short tour through the "river" which bisects Holbox island are available on request through various local guides.
If you have the urge to go "off island" for a day, there's a small Mayan ruin near Chiquila...
RELAX!!! You're on vacation!

Testimonials
Flamingos is a gem. I felt that I came to Holbox to escape and that I came to Flamingos to escape Holbox. The reason I felt this way is because it is around a 20 minute walk from town to Flamingos. I would consider that quite remote in Holbox terms. It is a quiet place all around. I enjoyed the sounds of nature and the ocean. The other guests were pleasant and everyone pretty much kept to themselves. The beach at Flamingos is quiet and the endless views of the turquoise ocean from the property were spectacular.
Breakfast was served every morning at the restaurant/cafe. There was limitless amounts of juice and coffee available. Before eating breakfast, I would enjoy walking over, getting a cup of coffee and then bringing it back to the cabana to sit on the porch. For breakfast they served fresh fruit, eggs and a ton of toast with jam or butter.
