Beach village resort... A casual complex centered upon Playa del Carmen's nicest beach. Ambiance, beauty & service only begin to describe this exceptional place. Highly recommended - Certainly not a typical Mexican mega-resort!

On the edge of Playa del Carmen, offering a rustic flavor with a tone of elegance. A thatch roofed community complete with two pools and tropical gardens is situated right on the beach. The rooms are neatly and attractively furnished with either a king or two queen beds, private bath and ceiling fan. Lovely touches of Mexican tile and woodwork abound. Daily maid service is, of course, provided and there's an ample supply of purified, bottled water in each room. A front porch with hammocks satisfies the modern Robinson Crusoe's quest for leisure with just enough of the necessary comforts.

Vacation-time...

Is good-eating time. The Shangri-La Caribe dining staff knows this. From the casual atmosphere of the dining room under thatch you'll find your mealtime moments a memorable experience. Of course, with that inviting Caribbean right at our doorstep, seafood is one of our staples - prepared with care and flare. There are tropical fruits, a feast for eye and palate, always available - and there are specialty buffets and real Mexican treats and open-air cookouts around the pool - services designed to complement the pleasure of a visit to Shangri-La. Breakfast, either lunch or dinner, and the hotel tax are also included in the nightly rate. Buen Provecho!

 Policies

Location

Head South on Highway 307 from the Cancun Airport towards Playa del Carmen. Once you get into Playa (around 45 minutes later) you will turn left on Calle 34, then turn left on 10th Avenue, turn right on Calle 38. Take Calle 38 all the way to the beach and Mahekal/Shangri-La's reception area will be on your right. Parking is available on the street in front of the reception area.
