We stayed at Petit Lafitte during the first week of April, booking the ocean view bungalow #4. We had no trouble finding the resort as there are signs to direct you. The road was pretty good. It is nice that the resort is so far off the highway as there was no highway noise which is common at some resorts. The bungalow was beautiful, clean and very comfortable with excellent air conditioning and good water pressure in the shower. The food and drinks were very, very good. The service was friendly and attentive. The grounds and beach were beautiful. We hope to return soon.

Location
Take Highway 307 south from the Cancun airport toward Playa del Carmen. It is approximately 32 miles/50 kilometers south of Cancun. Look for a small green sign with white writing for Petit Lafitte on the right hand side of the road. It will have an arrow pointing the way to go. You will turn left at the Cristal & Coke Plant. You will go through topes (speed bumps) and will proceed down the road and stay to your left. It is a rather narrow street. Traffic tends to be heavy so use caution making your left turn.
Keep going straight. You will then see a gate at The Fives Condos where you will tell the guard you're going to Petit Lafitte. You will proceed down that road and will pass the Tides Resort on your right hand side and keep going onto Petit Lafitte. The road is very bumpy with pot holes so drive carefully.
