And it's the safest bay for children of all ages. Nearby, in the tropical jungle are easily-accessible ruins of the mysterious Mayan civilization, which flourished centuries ago.

Villas Maya Bungalows Our bungalows are situated among the lush gardens of our property, with only 8 bungalows to a quadrangle, or in the adjacent section, the rooms are four to a section. They are just steps away from the beach, and although they do not have a view of the ocean, they make up for it in charm and privacy, and convenience. |

Location
Take Highway 307 south from the Cancun Airport to Akumal. Once you see the sign for Akumal, you will pass an overhead pedestrian bridge. You will then drive by the main entrance to Akumal. The first sign after Akumal will say RETORNO, where you need to make a U-TURN to the left, and then back to the main entrance to Akumal. ( RETORNO means to RETURN). Hotel Akumal Caribe is on the right hand side of the street towards the beginning of the entrance to Akumal.

This Hotel is truly a Hidden Jewel in the Mexican Caribeean. It is about an hour drive from Cancun Airport and it is in a very hidden spot at the Maya Riviera.
The Hotel has no Televisions and by 10pm the Restaurant Closes and it is only you and the stars in the sky.
I was there with my wife and 2 Kids. This Hotel has 2 restaurants, Art Galleries, Dive Center, Spa, Pizzeria, Kids Club, Local Hand Crafters. Our Bungalow was just about 2 minutes walk from the water amd both of the Restaurants are right on the beach.
When snorkling has the opportunity to see a bunch of Sea Turtles living in a beutiful Coral Reef with a rich variety of marine life. Next door to the Hotel is the Akumal Ecological Center where you can you and learn everything you need about the Sea Turtles,,, there my daughter learned and told me that Akumal means: Place of Turtles.
We had a great time our Rooms had a small and rudimnentary Kitchenet meaning a Hot Plate, pots, pans, dishes and a wet bar that we did not use since the food at Lol-Ha was superb. I think that some people can go to the Super Chomak and cook if they wish: the Super Chomak was just steps from the Front Office.
If you enjoy a quiet place where you can truly RELAX give it a try.
