My husband and I spent four nights at Holbox Dream in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is very new, so our room was in perfect condition. It's very bare bones -- just a bed, a small balcony and a bathroom -- but you really don't need anything more than that. Our room was in the back of the hotel, but we could still see the ocean from our balcony, which was a pleasant surprise. My only complaint about the room is that there wasn't a fridge.
The hotel's location couldn't be better -- a quick walk to town and near many other hotels-- and I dare say the beach is nicer in front of Holbox Dream than it is on other parts of the island. The only problem is that there is no restaurant or bar on the property. Obviously there are plenty within walking distance, but I would have much preferred to hang out there for breakfast or afternoon margaritas. I just found it a bit inconvenient to always have to go into town for a snack.
But all in all, it was great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Location
From the Cancun airport head northwest for about 2.5 hours to Chiquila and take the ferry to Isla Holbox. Transfer service is available to book with your reservation at an additional cost.
