Location

From the Cancun Airport take the exit road and follow the signs that say Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Chetumal, you will make a right (south) on highway 307. You will go through Puerto Morelos, which is about 15 miles south of the airport and you will go through Playa del Carmen about 35 miles south of the airport. Stay on the highway headed south from Playa del Carmen. Tulum is another 35-40 miles south of Playa del Carmen. As you get into Tulum you will go through the first stoplight at the ruins and continue on the highway till you get to the next stoplight, which is the beach road. There is a grocery store on your right and you will see signs for "Boca Paila" and "Punta Allen", make the left turn there at the light and take that road approximately 4 KM to the "T" in the road, Blue Tulum is right there at the T, the security guard at the gate will let you enter with your reservation information.

<p>I felt I needed to post this review after reading a few other negative ones. My husband and I stayed at Azul Tulum in 2008 for our honeymoon. It was perfect from the beginning to the end. The rooms were impeccable, huge and beautiful. Food was great (Ceviche, Mexican and International - all superfresh and tasty). Jose, the chef (hope he's still there) did an amazing job catering to our wishes. He even gave us private Mexican cooking classes in his high-tech kitchen. All the staff was amazing, no exceptions. Very friendly, super attentive and always going beyond and above what we expected. One day we came back to our room from dinner and had a bubble bath and sparkling wine prepared for us, complimentary of course. <br />The only thing that is important to know about this hotel is that it's not directly at the beach, even though it's right at the water with beautiful cabanas to hang out in. In order to get to the beach, it's a 3 minutes drive (either with your rental car or the hotel staff drives you there and picks you up).<br /><br />We really don't have anything negative to say about this place and are planning to go back there this October!<br /></p> <p>Trip Advisor - July 29, 2009 </p>
